In order to use official documents in China, for example- University Degree, Criminal Records Check, Marriage Certificates, Birth Certificates, etc., it will need to be authenticated by the Chinese Embassy in the country the document was issued in. For example, if your University Degree was issued by Queens University in Canada, even if you are a US citizen, your University Degree will need to be authenticated by the Chinese Embassy in Canada.
Do you have a job lined up in China? In order to get a work permit to legally work in China, you will need your University Degree and a recent Criminal Records Check authenticated by the Chinese Embassy. Is your new job in China an English teacher? Depending on which city in China you will go to, you may need your TEFL notarized or authenticated as well.

Beijing: TEFL needs to be authenticated
Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou: TEFL needs to be notarized

Even if your city only requires TEFL being notarized, if you plan on staying in China over 1 year and plan on changing jobs, we would recommend getting your TEFL authenticated. Notarized documents expire in one year, authentication is forever.
Process to Authenticate Documents

How to submit your order to authenticate your documents?
- Color scan your documents(University Degree, Criminal Records Check, TEFL Certificate/Teaching Certificates) and then upload to the order form. In almost all cases, legalized scans are accepted for most of China. In the event you need to authenticate your originals, please send us the original and we can authenticate that.**FBI Criminal Records Check- Unless you received a digital copy from your channeler, you must send the hard copy to us for authentication.**Marriage/Birth Certificates- You need to notarize and legalize in the state your documents were issued for marriage/birth certificates before mailing to us. Also, they must be issued within 6 months.
- Clear scan of your passport- both the photo page and signature page. If any info on the passport cannot be read, it could be rejected by the Chinese embassy.
