How much does it cost to authenticate my degree at the Chinese Embassy?
It takes between 8 to 9 business days in order to authenticate your degree. Submit your color scan of your degree, and we can notarize, state legalize, and the Chinese Embassy Authentication.
Do I have to submit my original document for authentication?
For University Degrees, State or City Level Criminal Records check, and teaching certificates(TEFL, CELTA, TESOL, etc), we do not need the original document. However, for the FBI background check, if you did not get a digital copy, we will need the original document. Also, for marriage and birth certificates, we need the originals, notarized and state legalized in the state it was issued.
Do I need to notarize my documents before I submit to you?
For Degrees, Non Criminal Records Check, and TEFL certificates, we can actually do the entire process for you. Just send us the color scan of your documents that you need authenticated, and we will notarize, state legalize, and do the Chinese embassy authentication.
We only charge $30 more per document to do the entire process, but if you do the notary and state legalization yourself, you will end up spending more money than if you let us do all the work.
*** Marriage and Birth Certificates- For these two documents, you will need to notarize and do the state legalization yourself. After, you need to send us the hard copy that has the notarization seal and the state legalization papers bonded to it. ALSO- these documents must be issued within 6 months.
What is a Jurat statement for the notary?
A Jurat Statement is- "sworn before me, this document is the true copy of the original......". The oath statement with "sworn before me" MUST be written by the notary public officer. Without this Jurat Statement, the Chinese Embassy will reject the document.
What is the difference between Apostille and State Legalization?
In USA, the pre-requisite to authenticate a document at the Chinese Embassy are two things-
- Notary
- State Legalization
Step 2- Must not be confused with Apostille. Apostille means- the governing body in USA is making a legal statement that the document is authentic, and the countries part of the HAGUE will accept that this document is genuine. However, China is not part of the HAGUE, so an Apostille will not work.
Also, if you have done extensive research, in UK, the Chinese Embassy will authenticate a document that is Apostilled. But in USA, the Chinese Embassy will only authenticate a document that has been "state legalized". Big difference!
Do I need to be present in USA in order to authenticate my documents by the Chinese Embassy?
The simple answer is NO! That is why we are here for you. All you need to do is provide us the color scan of your documents that you need to authenticate at the Chinese Embassy along with a color scan of your passport. We can do the rest. Once we do the entire process within 8-9 business days, we will send you a scan of the authenticated documents and send you the hard copies via Fedex to anywhere in the world.
Can you help me order a Criminal Records Check?
Yes we can. Go to the order form, and in the State Level Criminal Records Check, select yes. Then input the last four digits of your social security number and don't forget to upload the color scan of your passport. The fee we charge for this service is $30. This is in addition to the fee we charge for authenticating the document. Also, we do not need your fingerprint for this, so this will be more convenient for you as well.
